Babies & Brews #02 November 21st 4PM-5PM

Join us for the second Babies and Brews in our series at Longroof Brewing!

We are joined by postpartum doulas from Bumps Upon A Time and representatives from Your Village Co. to pull back the curtain on what early parenthood really looks like behind closed doors - specifically tackling the delicate art of managing excited (and sometimes overwhelming) family dynamics, setting compassionate boundaries when you need rest most, and moving past the guilt to figure out exactly what help you need and how to ask for it.

Tickets:

Your ticket includes one (1) drink at Longroof Brewing. Each adult must purchase a ticket to attend. Any additional food or drink will require payment at Longroof Brewing. Pre-sale tickets are $20 each. Tickers will be $25 after October 14th.

Babies and children are welcome to attend, we ask you purchase a free ticket for them so we can accommodate everyone. The free tickets do not come with food or drink. There is a change table in the restaurant and a limited number of high chairs.

About Bumps Upon A Time:

Started by Karena, Bumps Upon a Time, is a doula agency that comprises of labour/birth doulas, postpartum doulas, perinatal/childbirth educators, and a lactation counsellor. They provide in-person support to families of all structures in Edmonton and neighbouring counties, and virtually worldwide.

About Your Village Co:

Rebecca is a former national corporate leader and mom of young children. A conversation with a close friend changed the way she saw it: she didn't need to do it all herself. She needed help with the things that were stressing her out. Your Village is practical, consistent household support designed to give families more time, more capacity, and more room to be present.

About Jenna:

By day, Jenna handles corporate engagement projects with the same composure it takes to wrangle a toddler and family life. But any other time, she’s likely hunting down vintage treasures at a thrift store, testing out new recipes with her skills learned working in a restaurant, or combining her love of food and community-building by planning her next local food event! 

Equal parts sharp professional and curious generalist, she brings intentional execution, a dry wit, and an unapologetic love for good design and food to everything she takes on.

About Iris:

Iris is the owner of The Fourth, a maternity and local shop in Edmonton, Alberta. She’s an advocate for maternal mental health after her own experience with postpartum anxiety.

She started Coffee & Convos, a free weekly moms group, to help moms find community. Her love of giving back includes events and fundraisers like Free Fitness Friday and 20K Diaper Drive for Edmonton’s Food Bank. She’s currently starting a non-profit to change maternal mental health in the fourth trimester.
