Press Release: 20K Diaper Drive for Edmonton's Food Bank 2024

SECOND ANNUAL 20,000 DIAPERS EVENT IN SUPPORT OF EDMONTON’S FOOD BANK

Edmonton, Alberta, November 12, 2024 – Recognizing the ongoing needs of families in Edmonton, local businesses The Fourth and Edmonton Playgrounds are launching the second annual 20K Diapers Drive in support of Edmonton’s Food Bank.

“As a mother of three, I can’t imagine having to make the choice between buying food or diapers” says Iris Toon, founder of The Fourth, a maternity and postpartum store in Southgate Centre. “With the rising prices of groceries and essentials, like diapers, we wanted to do something to help relieve stress for local families.”

“We are rallying our communities to support us with monetary donations or donations of diapers” says Jill Footz, founder of Edmonton Playgrounds, a popular website and Instagram account dedicated to helping families find fun in the Edmonton area. “Iris and I both connect daily with families, and mothers especially, and the support in Edmonton is phenomenal when it comes to helping those in need.”

Last year’s Diaper Drive, which was held from November 12, 2023 to January 31, 2024 brought in more than 21,000 diapers and over $6,000 in monetary donations for Edmonton’s Food Bank.

This year’s Diaper Drive will run from Saturday, November 16, 2024 to Friday, January 31, 2024.

Donations of diapers can be made directly at The Fourth store on the second floor of Southgate Centre.

Loose diapers can be donated and should be sealed in a clear plastic bag.

Monetary donations can be made online at edmontonsfoodbank.com – donors can choose “The Fourth Diaper Drive” from the giving menu.
