Mom Friendly Edmonton: August 2026

Our monthly guides are to help you find community in Edmonton. We are the village and we invite you to join us!

Upcoming August Events 

Stroller Tour at the Alberta Legislature on Mondays 10:30AM-11:15AM and Tots on Tour on Tuesdays 10:30AM-11AM. Free tours, learn how to get there and where to park on the grounds (paid lots nearby 106 St and 96 Ave or 99 Ave and 108 St). Washrooms with change tables in the Queen Elizabeth II Building and the Legislature Building.

Infant Massage with Jasper Place Family Resource Centre on August 6th, 13th and 20th 9:30AM-11:30AM. Registration required.

Baby Sing & Sensory with Jasper Place Family Resource Centre on Fridays July 10th to August 14th 9:30AM-11:30AM. Registration required.

Baby & You with Jasper Place Family Resource Centre on Tuesdays July 7th to August 25th at 10AM. Drop in.

Intro to Postpartum Strength with Empowerfit on August 13th 2PM-3PM. Supportive, empowering workshop focused on the fundamental of postpartum recovery, strength core and pelvic floor. Babies & kids are welcome. Free 60 minute workshop, register online.

Choosing Safe, Quality Childcare with Dover Psychology on August 24th 7PM-9M at 4908-51 Street, Beaumont, AB. Zebra Centre and Council Early Learning and Care will also be speaking. Free event with light refreshments, register online. 

Movies for Mommies on alternating Wednesdays 1PM at Scotiabank Theater in West Edmonton Mall. No charge for children under 3.

Edmonton Moms Club has a ton of upcoming events and meet ups throughout the month. 

Online Events


Fitness

Lift and Yap with J Lac Fitness on Tuesdays July 14th to August 25th at 10AM. A kid friendly small group postpartum fitness class at TriForm Athletics.

Pilates for Mamas with Mama Strength Studio on Thursday 11AM. A 6 week session July 2 to August 6 that includes baby care.

Postpartum Rehab Exercise with Optimize Physio on July 14th to August 6th at 10:30AM. Assessment on July 9th.  Rebuild strength, improve posture and breathing. Babies are welcome!

Coffee & Convos Moms Group every Tuesday 1PM.

Gather & Grow Mom Group at Utopia Play Cafe on Wednesdays 10:30AM-12PM.

Mommy Connections has mom-to-be, mom and baby and mini movers groups.

Free Programs

Edmonton Public Library has many free programs like Baby Laptime, Family Storytime and Sing, Sign, Laugh and Learn!

Strathcona Play Group has free weekly playgroups on Mondays 12PM-2PM.

Alberta Parenting has a list of free drop-in programs in Spruce Grove, Stony Plain and Parkland County.

Free & Paid Programs

Family Futures has many programs like Baby and Toddler Playtime, Baby Sign & Sensory, Books for Babies, Coffee & Playtime, Daddy & Me Playtime. Programs include free and paid groups as well as some drop in programs.

Jasper Place Family Resource Centre is a non-profit in west Edmonton with programs like Postpartum Support Groups, Baby & You, Bonding Together, Infant Massage, Come Play with Me, Stay N' Play, Kids & Dads Growing Together and Baby Sing & Sensory. They also have in-partnership programs like Story Sprouts, Intergenerational Do-Re-Mi ABC and Pajama Time Rhymes That Bind. Programs include free and paid groups as well as some drop in programs.
